Insects
represent my
perception of
primeval
shapes, their
geometry and
presence in
nature. In
this instance
I am trying
to see
through the
nature of
substance -
metal in this
case - which
for me is
ancient and
cosmic. Its
unison in
discrepancy
of imperfect
objects,
which I am
transforming
into a
perfect form
to serve the
new idea.
Each of these
creations is
more
mechanical
than
biological
and have to
pass a final
test of
resistance.
They must
resist the
author's
weight
without
becoming
distorted and
resist time
and all its
cruelty. The
resistance of
work itself
is very
important to
me. | | argentina08

Fossils are
the
continuation
of insect
cycle and
again I have
chosen an
ancient form:
fish. These
are ancient
creatures
that have
changed very
little during
their
evolution,
yet lead a
successful
existence.
One might say
that this
idea
represents
nothing new,
but actually
it's an
idea that has
been
elaborated on
time and time
again in art
and
represents a
universally
recognised
character,
full of
symbolism.
This allows
for
innovative
approaches to
this work. | | bugs2006/08

Biped
Sculpture is
an idea based
on the
mutation of
all possible
and
impossible
living matter
and
technological
devices.
Biped is a
mutation, a
television-ma
n-chicken-ins
ect. The eye
of this
BIO-Machine
is a
television
cathode, the
legs that of
a human on
steroids,
finishing
with chicken
feet. Out of
this come
insect-like
wings, which
are
reservoirs
and the back
of the body
is also in
the shape of
an insect.
Biped
takes a
critical look
at genetic
experiments
performed on
animals and
plants and
looks at how
man can play
God, but is
ill-equipped
to deal with
the
unforeseen
consequences.
The
installation
attempts to
give the
observer a
full sensory
experience,
different
from framed
points on a
'neutral
' wall,
or an
isolated
object on a
pedestal.
This leaves
space and
time as the
only
dimensional
constants and
implies
dissolution
of the line
between art
and life. The
interactive
design has
been built by
Mr.Marko
Simic, a
programme
that helps
Biped to
watch and
recognise
people.
